• prophet came to madinah and the first thing he did was to build a masjid,
• he let his camel roam and sit anywhere it wanted and that place was chosen for the construction of the masjid.
• holy prophet said “this, if Allah wills, is the dwelling”
• The land for the mosque was owned by two orphans, Sahl and Suhayl.
• The orphans offered the land to the Prophet as a gift, but he refused it and instead bought the land.
• Abu Ayyub al-Ansari paid the price for the land.
• The Prophet contributed his efforts to the construction of the mosque.
• prophet built his house next to the masjid

MAWAKHAT

• the first problem when prophet reached madinah was how to settle muhajirin
• altho people of madinah hosted muhajirin, but make a stronger bond, between madinan and makkan people prophet established mawakhat between them
• as Quran says” believers are a single brotherhood”
• so there were 2 categories in madinah, the muhjirin who had migrated and were in need of help and ansars (the helpers) who helped
• prophet told ansar that muhajirins are in need of help and they should help them, ansars accepted and gave muhajirins place to live in their houses and treated them as brothers.
• prophet established brotherhood and ansars took muhajirin to their homes, treated them as equals and shared their own possessions with them.
• even the enmity between aus and khazraj was forgotten
• quran says: those who believed and adopted exile and fought for their faith with their possessions and their persons, in the cause of allah, as well as those who gave them accommodation and aid, these are all friend and protectors of each other.
• quran says : ‘those who believed and adopted exile…….., as well as thsoe who gave them aid and accomodation, are all friends and protectors…’
• abu bakr was paired with Kharijah bin zaid
